Vegetables
Fresh spinach is slowly simmered with ground beef, onions, garlic and tomato paste. It is traditionally served with garlic yogurt sauce.
Ingredients :
- 750 g fresh spinach
- 150 g ground beef
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 3 tbsp rice
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp tomato sauce
- 1 tsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 100 ml (approx. 1/2 cup) hot water
Preparation :
- Start by washing the spinach and chopping it into bite-sized pieces.
- Finely dice the onion and garlic.
- In a pot, combine the ground beef, onions, garlic, and olive oil. Sauté together until the meat is browned and the onions are translucent.
- Add the tomato paste and sauté for another minute.
- Add the chopped spinach to the pot, pour in the tomato sauce and add paprika and salt.
- Cover the pot and simmer on medium-low heat for about 20 minutes until the spinach is nearly cooked.
- Add the rinsed rice and the hot water to the pot.
- Continue to cook for about 5-10 more minutes until the rice is tender, then remove from heat.
- Serve warm, ideally with garlic yogurt sauce.
