Turkish refreshment, Ayran is a savory yogurt drink. Balanced with salt and chilled water, it is known for its thick, frothy top. This healthy, probiotic beverage is the ideal companion for meals, or as a cooling treat on a summer day.
Ingredients :
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 cup cold water
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Ice cubes (optional)
Preparation :
- Place the yogurt in a large mixing bowl.
- Add the cold water over the yogurt and whisk thoroughly until the mixture is smooth.
- To make the Ayran extra frothy, you can use a blender or a hand mixer, whisking at high speed for a few minutes.
- Add the salt and stir one last time to blend the flavors perfectly.
